18 Jan Hungary: Historical Train Journey to Royal Palace
Experience the joy of a steam train and nostalgia carriages. Visit the largest Baroque Palace of Hungary, which was the former summer residence of the Hungarian kings and as such the favourite place to stay for Sissi, Queen Elisabeth.
Classic trains hark back to the day when rail travel was an elegant affair. Special steam train journey with historical carriages (including the Orient Teakwood dining car, the Piano dining car and a steam engine “Buffalo”) takes the VIP guests from Budapest to Royal Palace of Gödöllő.
The luxurious program consists of a welcome reception at the Royal Waiting Hall built for Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife Queen Sissi, at the Budapest Nyugati Railway Station. Red carpets in front of the train as well as staff, who assist the travellers during journey are also part of the experience.
As for the finer details, all carriages are spacious, stylish and set up for lunch in a downright opulent way. Fine dining dishes are being served in a unique style.
The Royal Palace is home the museum dedicated to Sissi and her time being a Hungarian queen. After the exclusive welcome by the “queen” and the fanfares, the group will have a private visit to the museum.
The reconstructed baroque theatre auditorium, which is unique in Europe, or the recently renovated Riding Hall provide venues for high standard receptions or gala dinners.
