08 Oct EURO 2020 CHAMPIONSHIP IN AMSTERDAM
Amsterdam will next year be one of the host cities of the much-anticipated UEFA Euro 2020. The matches will be played in the Johan Cruyff Statium, home to the Dutch football team Ajax.
Open since August 1996, the stadium was the first in Europe with a sliding roof. It is currently receiving a significant makeover before UEFA EURO 2020 to modernise facilities and improve access for supporters. The stadium carries 54,990 supporters.
Next year’s Euro will see 55 national teams competing for the championship title, starting off with a qualifying process, with Kosovo taking part for the first time.
