30 Jun Germany Incentives: Interview with cpb culturepartner Berlin
Some interesting information to help you consider Germany for your next MICE trip
1. Are entry travel restrictions still existing in your country, if yes, when are these planned to be eased?
Yes we still have entry travel restrictions. All details here: https://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/en/einreiseundaufenthalt/coronavirus#content_0
The Federal Foreign Office and the individual German states provide information about the current measures on their websites.
In public, however, tourists should observe the hygiene and distancing rules. The minimum distance to be kept to strangers is 1.5 metres. Wearing mouth-and-nose protection is mandatory in many public areas. Reservations are currently obligatory for accommodation and camping sites.
In principle, entry is possible from:
- EU member states
- states associated with Schengen: Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Liechtenstein
- other countries (check this website for actual details) from which entry is possible in light of the epidemiological situation assessment by the EU.
Currently (as of today) Germany allows unrestricted entry for residents of the following countries:
- Australia
- Israel
- Japan (as of 6 June 2021, 0:00 a.m.)
- New Zealand
- Singapore
- South Korea
- Thailand
In addition, the list is to be expanded to include
- China
- Hong Kong and Macao SARs of the People’s Republic of China
as soon as the possibility of mutual entry is confirmed.
2. Are there any financial and fiscal incentives being offered for the meetings industry to attract business to your country?
Yes. Berlin offers congress and meeting funding: up to 60 Euro per day and per participant for meetings in Berlin from Sept to Nov 2021. To get the full funding you need to prove that your event is sustainable and you need to work with a sustainable partner. CPB culturepartner berlin is a certified sustainable event agency. The funding can only be claimed by a company with a registration in Germany.
Details see here: https://convention.visitberlin.de/en/berlin-congress-fund
3. have you developed any new products for the meetings industry?
CPB offers online virtual tours with live guides from Berlin, Weimar, Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg and Cologne. The most popular subjects are Streetart, history, art and culture.
Tours are interactive with polls and questions, including extra materials that give added value to the guide presentation and we have always an extra hosts who takes care of the chat, as well as extra staff for technical equipment.
Why go virtual?
Get an idea of the destination you want to visit! (or showcase the destination to your clients!).
Explore a subject in more detail than you could during a walking tour.
Virtual tours are sustainable and inclusive.
4. have any new hotels and/or meeting centres been launched in the last year, or are planned to be launched in 2021 and 2022? Please provide details
Munich: great new venue all about cars MOTORWORLD with a fantastic new hotel by AMERON. Meeting space from 20 up to 3000 guests.
